PDX CityCamp is an open, participatory gathering. We're kicking it off in 2025 with a focused version. We're gathering youth-serving organizations, educators, workforce, and community partners. We're connectinh across silos to co-create stronger systems of support for Oregon's youth.

What to expect.

Event Format

CityCamp - unconference format

  1. Participants create and organize the agenda, with help from facilitators.

  2. Everyone takes part in the sessions instead of just listening.

    • This makes it easier to share ideas and take real action.

    • People can move through breakout sessions freely.

    • Food and drinks will be provided, please note dietary preferences.

  3. The goal is to build local teams that come up with smart ways to improve city life.

    • These ideas often involve design, better processes, and technology.

  4. Followup and findings

    • Our team of facilitators will keep you in the loop about what was discussed and what any projects that form from this.

Why?
We care.

To quote Wieden+Kennedy, “Portland is what we make it.” Today, our city is at a crossroads, facing challenges that affect how we live, work, and connect as a community. We believe the best solutions emerge when community advocates, builders, and experts come together to co-create practical approaches. As volunteers, we know many local organizations are already doing more with less, and we want to leverage our experience to support and amplify their work. By hosting CityCamp PDX, we are creating a collaborative space where diverse voices unite to explore new ways of making Portland stronger together.

Who are we?

Community Advocates, Builders, & Volunteers

We are a group of community advocates gathering to foster resilience and strengthen connections. We've met through our involvement in community-focused organizations including: SVP Portland, PDX Digital Corp, p:ear mentor, and others. Many of us volunteer or serve youth organizations and looking to start where we are most familiar.

Our Approach

The need for interconnected systems extends from cities to rural voices, youth and elders, and industries and communities. We're here to help facilitate co-designing our shared future.

  • Transparent by design.

  • Accountable to the whole.

  • Action-oriented.

  • Rooted in people, place, and living systems.
